The Parish Council have been busy during the past twelve months. We have installed more safety mirrors and – finally – seem to have succeeded in getting the many many potholes filled in. Our new County Councillor, Tim Bloomer, lit a fire under the drain-unblocking powers that be, and a tanker appeared to remove the cause of the lake outside Linden Lea that has been there for eternity. We have organised two litter picks with a troop of willing volunteers, resulting in an eye watering amount of rubbish being collected, especially on the road from the Egg Pudding Stone to the A590 and the road from Cartmel. Our chairman, Darren, has taken on the responsibility of cutting White Moss, which now looks much more cared for, and our lengthsmen have strimmed the bus shelter lane. We are still working on the gritting issue, and the provision of salt bins, as there is always more to do. We are happy to hear from anyone who wants to give us a challenge!
