The Parish of Broughton East, once stretching from Windermere to Grange-over-Sands, is now one of the smaller parishes under the auspices of South Lakeland District Council and Cumbria County Council.
It is located close to the southern end of Windermere and just 2 miles north of the village of Cartmel.
